Stamp something-Flowers, buttons and sparkle OH MY

Pink Animal-Angel

Oh she sparkles and I love the animal print! I used tape on the side of the card, added my flower and some ribbon. I took apart a larger bling sticker for the top and bottom of the Kenny K image. May i just pay homage to the ladies of Kenny K. They are perfect and reflect my oldest daughter to a T. Spiked short RED hair, cool clothes and all sorts of crazy/fun jewelery is my Kaitlyn. I have already colored an image for her 21st birthday card-which is coming up a bit too soon for me (August) so silly. Moving ON!

I colored, again with copic markers, found the great animal print papers from one of the hundreds of mat stack paper packs I have lying around. A clear sheet of embossed plastic behind her with more "bling" to finish the product.

Ready for my close up!

Mo's Carnival..."It is Over"

Hi all. Once upon a time my nephew came to visit me and do all fun things "Texan". He went to see his grown-up Cousin Joshua March in at Texas A&M and suffered the heat to watch the Aggies play football.

Then off to the Texas State Fair-the inspiration for this card. I honestly have NEVER seen anyone eat as much as this kid did he tried it all from deep fried bacon to funnel cake. SO in honor of one of my favorite memories I give you Mo's challenge-Carnival an ode to BEN!

Ben at the Carnival-with FOOD!
I was really excited to try this card form-it felt festive to me. This was my plan from the start. I think you can incorporate several of the carnival characters Mo offers on her site to the levels of the card for something different. Carnival stickers all food themed (cotton candy, candy apples, corn dog) of course with orange flags and coordinating paper to finish it off. The birthday greeting makes this a great boy card. Never easy to come up with for me.

I really needed the creative outlet today so I am glad this card came out so well...and then for fun and because it's not over until the fat lady sings...one more for the road...I vow to get better at the photos of my cards.
THE END :)

Something New

Good evening. Mo's challenge this week is Something New. FUN! As always I love challenges using Mo's images-I think they are some of my favorite scenes, each one tells such a great story. I downloaded some wonderful new images last week and made use of one for the something new card. So the story: it is very hot here in Texas (90 degrees) and it is only April so I think summer is going to be brutal. Since there isn't a pool on my backyard I think a new wading pool is probably one of the best things life (and the local Wal-Mart) can offer. There was also a lot of focus around here about doggies. Neighbors have a new puppy and it is only by sheer luck that my girls didn't bring home a new friend (puppy named gracie lou) from the adoption my oldest arranged at her employer. So, new pool, new summer, new friend.

On to the card-copics to color the two new friends, grass and pool. Sponged the sky with various chalk ink. The sun is a paper clip, a large bottle cap and sticker. I thought random squares for the background on the card would be fun-I like to keep the "boy" cards simple as having sons, nephews and so forth, I know their focus isn't so much on my artistic endeavors...
A new Pool, new day and new friend!

7 Kids Challenge-Easter

For the Seven Kids Challenge I wanted to complete more than just cards. I always try to give the ladies I work with a little something on each holiday. I find that if that something is made personally it has that much more meaning. For the ladies I made a couple of little treat boxes-one has the Easter candy in a box and the other in a can. Then for fun and because I had just purchased her :) the little artist was begging for a card of her own.

YUM-better than the peas that were in the can previously!

The bunnies are from High Hopes Stamps-their master piece belonged on mine-no doubt. Below are the supplies I used for the goody can. I think the picture taking of the projects will have to improve. As I continue on this journey I think that will happen. I am trying to look at things differently and how I can use it on a project. On the card I used the plastic insert that came with the flowers purchased, it has a lace pattern stenciled and was just really sweet and worked with the card. The Easter Egg and Tilda are all copics colored and I cut up a little fuzz for the bunnies tails, adding layers and dimension. All occasions lend themselves to card making but I have to say Easter and the color pallet is one of my faves!

The Supplies...

Pink and Green

Sweet Baby

I was very excited to get to spend my Sunday crafting and getting cards made and ready for several challenges. The first thing I wanted to tackle was the Magnolia challenge...pink and green. This little gal was perfect in pink. I have to confess that pinks and greens of all shades are favorite colors of mine to work with, so many choices.

This little gal is colored with copics. She is resting on a lime green coaster with a pink background. I was in a paper piercing mood so the bottom paper and both of the smaller circles are pierced. The gems and ribbon were a bit of added punch that I liked. This weekend was my baby girls prom-she is the last of our four children so fun and bittersweet Saturday. So once upon a time I had this tiny little girl baby in pink-now all dressed up and headed to her prom.

Oh man....

A few more cards...

Well I might have missed the Mo Manning challenge, Oh well. But I have some great shots of some cards so I thought to share them here as well.

Every garden should have a kitty. Mr. Fred likes to be in the middle of everything, so he is perfect in the garden with this cute little guy from Mo Manning. Again I used some of the older items I had around the craft room. I think the large-kid like fence and sun were great as a part of this one. The ribbon says, fresh, new, cool-if only that were true in Texas in the spring and summer.

I'm BACK!!!!! How Does Your Garden grow....

Hello all. I am happy to be back and posting. End of vacation, back to work, birthday weekend with the hubby, Emily needling to write a LOOONNNGGGG paper have kept me from the laptop and blog.  So happy to have my first post back a Mo Manning challenge. How does your garden grow...well I am sad to say, unless it involves kids or cats my garden doesn't grow, at all. I DO NOT have a green thumb.

I chose this little gal for a number of reasons. Not only it is the typical Mo darling but it reminded my of my daughters best friend, since kindergarten, Rachel. So this card is for Miss Rachel and Miss Emily.  I chose the colors with this in mind, Rachel has long black hair and both those girls have the "smirk". I cut the flowers from paper used to make the card for some dimension, MS scissors for the grass and felt buterflys floating in the garden. The tag on the front and quote inside were some very old stickers I had lying around. I love finding uses for the old stuff lying around.
