7 Kids Challenge...Be a Square!!! Part Two

Perhaps a bit carried away (second one for 7 Kids Challenge)...one of my best friends from high school is a California girl all the way...so this Tilda at the beach is with her in mind...again 5" square card-colored with Copics. Starfish and embellishments to add to the beach theme, gave the water dimension with crystal and contrasted the squares throughout with the circle border...

7 Kids Challenge...Be a Square!!!

Squares is the challenge this time around. I love this little Tilda-from Magnolia. She is on a 5" by 5" Square car (in red). The yellow accents make it pop and match her yellow rain boots. I found the great lady bug paper at a specialty paper store and have never had a reason to make use of it. The flower embellishments are from Stampin Up! and Tilda is colored with Copic Markers. The little ladybug will make a great "just because" card.

Challenges

One of my goals this year was to create this blog, enter some competition's, share and sell my cards. You know how those new years resolutions are-but on the plus side no weight loss "lie" was involved. I am pretty psyched that I have the blog started, and ESTY site and am entering my first couple of blog challenges. The cards I am entering received EKP's seal of approval, always great to hear, "these are some of your best" I have to admit I love them as well-so don't be surprised if they show up in your mailbox sometime in the new future...

Tweak...Tweet...Trying

Still tweaking the blog. Research, a trip to the book store for a "dummies" book that did not help. Hmmm wonder what that says about me... Endless emails and calls to CMP for computer tips. Poor kid finally got a blog of his own so that he could test things out and thereby coach his mom. Boy do I feel a bit old while working my way through this process.   This old dog is going to make it happen! So hopefully as you follow along (and eventually there will be more than two people) my progression and increased skills will shine through. Power of positive thinking...

One thing I have done is take a look at other blogs. Awesome! So many terrific things to see that I end up feeling like a kid in a candy store.  Eventually I will link to those so that you can check them out as well.

Those that know me, know that I am a list maker...nothing beats a "huney do" list. So I have been making lists of my favorite blogs and craft shopping websites. The list has little bullets of what I have found on that particular site, price points, shipping experience and little comments. I hope that this list can be added here for me to share-I think it is useful to learn from what someone else has experienced and then of course go make up your own mind.

I know I have mentioned, several times, that I drag my markers downstairs and sit in front of the TV and color...even though I have a GREAT BIG craft room upstairs...well more TV motivated coloring has taken place the last few days (NEW STAMPS IN THE MAIL!!!!!) so I thought I would share some pics...

My TV coloring space...what you don't see is the cat in his spot

What to do-when they MAKE you watch IDOL

Well here I am stuck with Marty and Emily watching the TVO version of AM Idol. Can I just say how much I HATE AM Idol. So I am blogging and often pulling my hands off of the keys to plug my ears. Pain. Drama. COPICS. So I brought my pens downstairs and have some great new stamps from Lili of Valley-check them out they are SO CUTE, http://liliofthevalley.co.uk/ So here I am again coloring...I mentioned it soothed me right?

This is the card I am putting together for my "demo" with Addicted to Rubber Stamping, Should be posted on there website in the next couple of weeks...

Crafting through the Snow

WOW is it cold in Denton TX. A full week of ice and snow-kids out of school since Tuesday and my romantic weekend (with a stop at local craft stores along the way) postponed. What to do??? Out come the Copic markers and lots of DVD's for hanging out time. Now I have piles and piles of colored designs ready to be added to a card....my daughter is a bit concerned at the AMOUNT of colored stamps that are ready to go. What can I say, just like in kindergarten coloring is the best part of the day and when snowbound in the house keeps the mom from running around with her hands in the air screaming, "let me out"! Picture of the lovely snow white landscape-and my array of stamps...

Setting Up

It is always funny to me when I realize I am not as "smart" as I had thought. Working on setting up this blog-challenge level-HIGH-well I will keep going and see where the journey takes me.
